About Luis

Award-Winning Producer* • Recording Engineer • Songwriter • Performer

Music has always been a part of Luis’ life. His musical past stretches as far back as he can remember — from his father playing recordings by big band legend Perez Prado to watching family members singing and playing at gatherings. This environment fueled his desire to pursue music both as a performer and producer.

Luis hails from Nogales, Arizona and his career began in 2006 when he began recording and producing local artists in the Tucson area.  In 2007, he began pursuing a Bachelor’s of Music Technology at the University of Colorado Denver. UCD’s program allowed him to hone his skills as a producer and engineer, and also gave him the opportunity to showcase his skills as a vocalist and performer. Luis graduated magna cum laude in the 2010 and in 2013 graduated with his Master’s in Recording Arts. During his graduate school years, Luis became very involved in the a cappella music scene through his time with UC Denver’s premier a cappella group, MIX.

Luis has been fortunate enough to work with a variety of talented performers and has continued to hone his craft.  He currently sings with the award-winning group, 5280 A Cappella, and continues to record and produce music for groups/performers in the Denver metro area.
